WEST VILLAGE TOWNHOUSE
Location: Manhattan, New York
Gross floor area: 4700 sft
Completion: August 2014
From a typical West Village townhouse layout, with constrained and dark spaces, Haute Architecture created a warm minimalist design to bring light deep into the building. The project is conceived as a series of fluid spaces which frame layered experiences along the horizontal and vertical paths. The newly created double height atrium serves as the modern heart of the residence – Entertainment, living, dining, kitchen and work all flow in one polyvalent space.
The resulting space is a meditative sanctuary that offers their clients reprieve from the hectic nature of city life.
BERKSHIRE RESIDENCE
Location: Alford, Massachusetts
Gross floor area: 1,800 sft
Completion: December 2014
Located on a 280-acre property deep in a forest, an existing guesthouse was gut renovated in order to reconnect its interior spaces with the beauty of its surrounding nature. The two gable end walls were made transparent with full-height glazing, creating a direct visual connection to the surrounding forest from the living and dining rooms. The result is a living space whose edges are blurred between interior and exterior.

CHELSEA RESIDENCE
Location: Manhattan, New York
Gross floor area: 1,300 sft
Completion: June 2013
The overall concept was to maintain the spatial quality of the loft-like spaces of the existing converted warehouse unit while enabling modern lifestyle amenities. The effortless result belies a luxurious design filled with meticulously integrated details. The main challenge was to fulfill the programmatic brief of increasing the apartment from a two-bedroom to a three-bedroom residence while maintaining its privacy and spaciousness.
The resulting residence is a deeply serene environment which crystallizes and balances the owners’ energy and creativity.
FIRE ISLAND RESIDENCE
Location: Fire Island, New York
Gross floor area: 4,500 sft
Completion: Concept 2011
The goal of a net-zero energy balance for this project was achieved by using the principles of a passive house: including enhanced natural ventilation, recycled materials, and a walkable photovoltaic roof.
With its full-height hurricane-proof glazing facing towards the ocean, the connection between the interior and exterior enhanced the owners’ experience of living on the beach.
The house embodies the intersection of luxurious living amenities and maximum environmental consciousness thanks to its elaborate building management system.
QUEENS RESIDENCE
Location: Flushing, New York
Gross floor area: 4,700 sft
Completion: under construction
Conceived as a modern interpretation of an archetypal house with a gable roof. UPPER EAST SIDE RESIDENCE
Location: Manhattan, New York
Gross floor area: 1,600 sft
Completion: August 2014
Located on the Upper East Side, this two-bedroom and two-bathroom pied-à-terre was re-imagined to fit the family’s multifaceted needs while simultaneously amplifying the feeling of spaciousness.
Inspired by the fluid circulation of a traditional French enfilade, the new floor plan enables multiple paths throughout the home. The strategy also creates a dramatic series of spaces filled with daylight and views of the city. Understated, luxurious finishes and refined details to give it that unique sense of homeliness. Antique furniture was juxtaposed with modern and minimal architectural details, enhancing the appreciation of each.
COMMERCIAL PROJECTS
THE ECO LAUNDRY
Location: Manhattan, New York
Gross floor area: 750 sft
Completion: June 2012
The goal was to create an identity for the store in line with the company’s existing Buenos Aires location: clean and modern.
The touch of green serves as a discreet reminder of the laundry’s ecological philosophy. In line with this philosophy, sustainable materials were used wherever possible, i.e. energy efficient laundry machines, organic flooring materials, recycled steel as well as an energy efficient mechanical system and lighting.
The space is organized around central working stations. These stations are moveable in order to increase the flexibility of the space; the store can be easily reconfigured to the staff’s changing needs.
The result is a sleek yet functional space that is a generation ahead of your usual neighborhood laundry.

MCKENZIE GALLERY
Location: Manhattan, New York
Gross floor area: 1,200 sft
Completion: September 2012
The McKenzie Gallery was relocated from the Chelsea art district to the Lower East Side in Manhattan. The move enforced the area’s reinvention as an artistic hub. A former clothing store was converted into the art gallery. Challenged with spatial constraints such as low ceilings and narrow, dark spaces, the floor plan was reconfigured to deliver filtered daylight deep into the space.
The former store front with its seating area is used as a communication element between the gallery’s calm interior and the bustling neighborhood. Through minimal design, reduced color and material palettes, the art becomes the focus in the space.
912 5TH AVENUE LOBBY
Location: Manhattan, New York
Gross floor area: 900 sft
Completion: under construction
Working as the Architect of Record, Haute Architecture is collaborating with the British architect Lord Norman Foster to restore the 1920’s lobby of a pre-war residential building along Central Park. In order to rebuild the original grandeur of the lobby, the neoclassical interior décor has been complemented with modern yet timeless furniture and custom lighting elements which reflect the streamlined minimalism of the original era. The existing lobby’s envelope and interior finishes will be carefully restored to preserve the original elements of the building.
